Image Quality Takes Center Stage

To re-emphasize the importance of image quality above all else, the D3X delivers an incredible level of digital SLR performance to provide photographers with extremely high resolution, exceptional dynamic range, phenomenal total gradation and outstanding color reproduction. Image files can be recorded as TIFF, JPEG or NEF (RAW) formats in either 12- or 14-bit compressed or uncompressed formats, and recorded to UDMA compatible CompactFlashT cards for optimum speed. Photographers can save image files directly to the dual card slots as overflow, backup, or as separate file formats to different cards. Building on the D3X's flexibility, users have the creative option to shoot in the 5:4 crop mode with 20.4-megapixel resolution, the ideal format for creating 8 x 10-inch portraits. While using DX-format lenses, faster continuous shooting of up to seven frames per second can be achieved at a resolution of 10.5 megapixels.

The exceptionally low noise of the D3X is essential to any professional commercial application, and it provides photographers with an ISO range of 100 to 1600, expandable to 50 (Lo-1) and 6400 (Hi-2). The ultra smooth tones and lack of grain at ISO 1600 as well as at low sensitivity settings result in smooth, natural skin tones and exacting detail that, before the D3X, required larger and far costlier studio-bound camera systems.

Advanced Technologies, Meticulously Executed

In a commercial setting or on location, imaging professionals need high performance in both speed and processing. The Nikon D3X can shoot at up to five fps at full resolution or up to seven fps in DX crop mode, allowing photographers to catch the split-second difference in a model's expression or capture all of the action in a sequence. Just like the D3, the D3X achieves a start-up time of a mere 0.12 seconds and a shutter release time lag of 0.04 seconds.

The D3X's speed, as well as high levels of performance, leverages Nikon core technologies including a newly enhanced EXPEEDT Image Processing System, specially designed for the D3X to provide superior image quality, faster processing speeds and lower power consumption. This advanced system is able to achieve extremely precise color reproduction for a broad spectrum of hues, in addition to vivid saturation and smooth gradation. What's more, Nikon's advanced noise processing function is engineered to minimize noise at all sensitivities and operate seamlessly without interfering with other image color parameters.

The D3X also features Nikon's exclusive Scene Recognition System, which continuously analyzes information from the 1,005-pixel RGB light sensor, to further refine auto exposure, auto white balance and autofocus calculations. This results in flattering portraits and awe-inspiring landscapes that portray accurate color and fine details. Nikon's exclusive 3D Color Matrix Metering II helps ensure accurate exposures, even in the most challenging lighting conditions. Instantly evaluating each scene before capture, input data from the system's sensor is automatically referenced against an internal database of more than 30,000 images derived from actual photographs to calculate correct exposure values. Active D-Lighting, used in combination with 3D Matrix Metering II, helps to determines proper exposure, and creates realistic contrast while compensating for lost shadows and highlights. Prior to shooting, users can choose from Extra High, High, Normal, Low or Off settings, as well as an Auto mode.

Additionally, the D3X features Nikon's exclusive Multi-CAM 3500FX focus module, with 51 AF points, 15 cross type sensors and 36 horizontal sensors that easily track and lock onto moving subjects, delivering the same fast and accurate AF performance that helped make the D3 immediately successful. Users can select any of the AF points, making it easy to consistently attain accurate focus right on a subject's eyes, frame after frame. Additionally, three AF-area modes - Single point, Dynamic-area AF and Auto-area AF - are available to maximize the use of the 51 focus points by selecting the most suitable one to match subject conditions. AF is also available in one of two Live View modes optimized for the studio, including a phase detection handheld mode and a tripod mode. This feature allows the user to zoom in up to 27x on the LCD screen to ensure critical focus. While in Live View, the graphic indication of a virtual horizon is also available, making it easier than ever to confirm camera orientation.

To further ensure each photographer's ability to balance their personal style, Nikon's Picture Control System enables users to adjust their images to pre-set parameters such as Standard, Neutral, Vivid and Monochrome that apply tweaks to image sharpening, tone compensation, brightness, overall tone and saturation. Photographers have creative control over these image parameters with the use of up to nine available customizable presets.

Synchronizing Both Form and Function

Engineered for real-world functionality, the D3X retains a rugged shell with moisture, dust and shock resistance that has become a hallmark of flagship Nikon D-SLRs, while preserving the usability and ergonomics that allow the camera to remain an extension of the photographer's vision. Attention to detail goes so far as to include a self-diagnostic shutter system that is tested to exceed 300,000 cycles for maximum durability and longevity. The camera's body also maintains the resilient magnesium alloy construction and form factor of the D3, promoting consistent Nikon system synergy.

A bright and accurate viewfinder offers 100 percent coverage with 0.7x magnification. The body also houses Nikon's acclaimed 3.0-inch super density LCD screen, now relied upon by so many photographers. The high-resolution 920,000-dot screen is viewable at wide angles up to 170 degrees, and will allow photographers to quickly zoom in to confirm critical focus. Users can also output the video signal to an external display via HDMI to allow client viewing. According to the report 'JobSpeak' released by Naukri.com, India's No.1 Job Site, the Overall Job Index in October 2008 is 781 as compared to 1000 in July 2008 indicating a decline of almost 21.9%. Historically, there is a seasonal decline in October which is around 10% as recruitment slows down due to the festive season, this year the slowdown in hiring has been sharper affecting new jobs by 21.9%. The index suggests that companies are scaling back their recruitment plans due to the global financial crisis and the current economic conditions.

On the report, Hitesh Oberoi, COO and Director, Info Edge (India) Ltd said, "JobSpeak is a unique initiative to provide our stakeholders and all interested parties an insight into new job creation across locations and sectors in India. In the current economic situation, the index will be a useful guide to asses the job market, existing opportunities and the upcoming sectors. We will keep this initiative up by releasing monthly reports on trends."

JobSpeak indicates the industries that have seen a growth/decline in new jobs. Over the past three months, Real Estate, Banking, Finance, IT and Retailing show a decline; while Telecom, Pharma and Hospitality emerge as attractive options. Some niche sectors, like Government, Defence and Legal have gained attractiveness in recent months.

The index has been calculated based on new jobs added to the site month on month. July 2008 has been taken on a base of 1000 and August, September and October index is compared with the July data.

City-wise Analysis

Metros saw a dip in the supply of new jobs. Besides the impact of the slowdown, Diwali and Dussehra are popular festivals across India, which impact hiring to a considerable extent.

Metros that are the bulk provider of jobs witnessed a decline in new jobs to the tune of 16% in comparison to the usual 10% in earlier festive seasons. In the Delhi - NCR region, new jobs fell sharply after maintaining stability in Aug and Sep. The job index for Delhi fell from 1000 to 786. Mumbai witnessed a higher setback in the month of Oct as compared to Sep and Aug, the job index fell from 1000 to 715 in October 2008 as compared to July 2008. Bangalore, the IT hotspot, has lost new jobs since Jul, especially in Aug which saw a decline of close to 20% as compared to Sep. Chennai saw a marginal increase in new job creation during Sep, however October saw a fall to the tune of 10%. Hyderabad and Pune bore the brunt of the slowdown especially in the IT sector and witnessed a decline of over 15% in new jobs during October. Jobs in Kolkata were severely affected with October alone witnessing a decline in new jobs by over 32%. Chandigarh, affected to an extent by the IT industry slowdown, saw a slowdown in hiring to the tune of 35% since July.

Industry Analysis

IT - both the Software and Hardware sector saw a dip in new jobs by almost 25% since July this year. Banking and Financial Services have seen a decline of over 32% in October, while Construction and Engineering have seen a decline in new jobs by almost 22% since July 2008. The Telecom industry which was looking up in August and September had seen an increase in jobs, while October witnessed a dip of 17% indexed to July. The fluctuation could be owing to the festive season.

Interestingly, the BPO industry has witnessed a slight bounce back by 10% in October after witnessing a decline in new jobs in August and September. The Pharma Industry has been comparatively less affected with a fall in the index of less than 15%. Niche sectors like Government and legal have seen an increase in new jobs.

Functional area Analysis

Across most functional areas and departments, the decline in new job creation has been to the tune of 15-20%. The slowdown has trickled down to most functional areas in October with Sales, Business Development executive, Project Managers, Banking - Insurance, Marketing and HR professionals seeing a decline in online availability of new jobs. September had been a more positive month with Sales, HR, Marketing seeing a marginal increase in availability of new jobs. In October, new job creation for Project Managers and Sales and Business Development Executives fell by a huge margin, indicating the low business sentiment in the market. IT- Software and Banking professionals saw a drastic decrease in online availability of new jobs during October.

Methodology Adopted

The data has been sourced from Naukri.com and is reflective of the new job listings added on the site. Jobs have been categorised by location, functional area and industry. The index has been calculated across Cities/ Functional Area - Deptt / Industry verticals.

On basis of new job listings added to the site every month, the data shows an increase or decline in the jobs. To calculate the index, jobs in July have been taken on a base of 1000. The August, September and October data has been indexed against July.

India's First Professional Diploma in Technical Communication
TWB Launches Post Graduate Program with Internship and Placement Built in

Wipro and Citi Enter Agreement for Wipro to Provide Information Technology Services to Citi and its Businesses

Bangalore, Karnataka, India, Tuesday, December 23, 2008 -- (Business Wire India) -- Wipro Technologies, the global IT services business of Wipro Limited (NYSE:WIT), and Citigroup Inc. (Citi), the leading global financial services company, today announced that they have reached an agreement for Wipro to acquire Citi Technology Services Ltd., the India-based captive provider of information technology services and solutions to Citi entities worldwide, for an all cash consideration of approximately $127 million. As part of the transaction, Wipro and Citi will sign a Master Services Agreement for the delivery of Technology Infrastructure Services (TIS) and Application Development and Maintenance (ADM) services for a period of six years. The agreement provides for the delivery of at least $500 million in service revenues over the period of the contract.

Based in Mumbai and Chennai, Citi Technology Services provides IT services to Citi and its affiliates around the world. Citi Technology Services has grown tremendously since its inception in 2005, and today has approximately 1,650 employees trained in Citi processes and technologies, servicing Citi businesses in more than 32 countries. Citi Technology Services' revenues are expected to be approximately $80 million in CY2008.

Apart from strong competencies in TIS, Citi Technology Services has expertise in ADM for Cards, Capital Markets and Corporate Banking.

This transaction strengthens Wipro's existing relationship with Citi with a long-term agreement for Wipro to deliver TIS and domain -led ADM services to all Citi business segments.

New Delhi, Delhi, India, Tuesday, December 23, 2008 -- (Business Wire India) -- December 23, 2008: In its quest for moving on a sustainable development pathway, The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) and the Center for Innovation and Renewable Energy (CIRE) signed a memorandum of understanding declaring to promote renewable energy and energy efficient technologies in both the countries and the Latin American society at large.

CIRE would work on two levels, namely, local as well as global levels in the field of energy, considering that energy is an implicit economy empowering factor. CIRE vision is to work in areas of Renewable energy, Energy conservation and efficient use of energy and Green buildings. Towards this, CIRE would collaborate with the main academicians, researchers as well as institutions of higher learning.

CIRE will have a multi-level integration. This center will, in the beginning, have Mexico City government's funding. This will also include infrastructure promotion and management of the project, legal endorsement and a favorable environmental policy towards energy saving and renewable energy use.

The second tier of operations is to use the expertise of Universities and Research centers, hence promoting collaboration between TERI, Mexico City's Science and Technology Institute, New York Academy of Sciences, and the premier Research & Technology investigation centres in Japan, Brazil, Israel and Russia.

Enterprises, Financial institutions and other partners in the next tier will help in international promotion of CIRE, especially to the Latin American counties and would help in enterprise direction, structuring of business plans, international commercialization and support services.

Initiative Aims to Narrow Gap Between Supply and Demand of Regional Networking Talent

New Delhi, Delhi, India, Tuesday, December 23, 2008 -- (Business Wire India) -- Furthering its goal to develop homegrown technical skills and career certifications through education initiatives, Cisco marked the first graduation of students from its Indian Global Talent Acceleration Program (GTAP) here last week.

Launched in October 2008, the Cisco® GTAP is part of an ongoing investment in the region aimed at developing next-generation local network consulting engineers for the company. The 13 graduates hail from the inaugural class of associate network consulting engineers.

GTAP has particular relevance in India, where the surging economic development will create a demand for 118,000 more networking professionals by next year, according to a 2004-2009 IDC report on global skills. The program is designed to be sustainable. The delegates receive a salary and go through the training in relatively small groups of 16 people. This enables GTAP to put a strong emphasis on technical and professional training, mentorship and on-the-job training. Entry- or associate-level candidates for the program were all recent college graduates, and mid- or professional-level students have significant prior experience with Cisco networking. Datacraft, Fast Lane, and Global Knowledge, all Cisco Learning Solutions Partners, offer this program in India.

The GTAP program is accelerating rapidly across the globe and now boasts three facilities: the Jordan initiative (launched in November 2007); the Johannesburg facility, the 'hub' for programs in emerging Africa; and the newest facility in Bangalore.

Furthermore, Cisco recently announced that it has started recruiting candidates from Kenya, Angola, Nigeria, Namibia and Botswana to enroll in the GTAP program in Johannesburg. Audi India Offers Attractive Package for Audi A6
Zero Percent Financing Rate; Extended Warranty: 4 Years on Complete Audi A6 Range

Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, Tuesday, December 23, 2008 -- (Business Wire India) -- Audi, the German luxury car manufacturer, today announced a special offer for its customers - a zero percent financing rate and an extended four years warranty for the Audi A6 range in India. The Audi A6 range includes four variants - 2.8 FSI, 3.2 FSI quattro, 2.7 TDI and 3.0 TDI quattro.

The Audi A6 package includes providing finance on a rate of 0% for Audi customers and an extended warranty of two years in addition to the normal two years warranty. This means a 4 year warranty for the customers of the Audi A6 model range. The extended warranty will include all items which are covered in the initial two-year manufacturer warranty.

Audi India also announced recently a price reduction for its homologated models available in India fully passing the revision of excise duty and central value added tax (Cenvat) to the customers. The price of the Audi A6 saw a reduction of INR 1,51,000 and the new prices are as follows:
