(BW)(IL-DIAMOND-MANAGEMENT)(DTPI)Diamond Management & Technology Consultants Announces Winners of Third Annual DconStruct Business Case Competition
Nearly 600 Students at Top Business Schools Gain Real-Life Perspective on Management Consulting Careers Through Simulated Client Case Work

Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, Thursday, November 05, 2009 -- (Business Wire India) --

Diamond Management & Technology Consultants, Inc. (NASDAQ: DTPI) has selected the winners of its third annual DconStruct business case competition. Separate DconStruct '09 competitions were held at three of India's premier business schools: the Indian School of Business-Hyderabad, Indian Institute of Management-Bangalore, and Indian Institute of Management-Calcutta.

"DconStruct is an important aspect of Diamond's commitment to India and our efforts to help students prepare themselves for a career in management consultancy," said Vinod Nair, Managing Director of Diamond's India practice. "Participating students get an opportunity to experience real-life challenges facing senior executives at some of India's leading corporates today. Also, they can appreciate the importance of skills such as teamwork, client interaction, and communication that are essential to a successful career in management consultancy."

The six-week competition drew a tremendous response. Across the three institutes, participation was up 20% from 2008, with roughly 50 teams at each campus for a total of about 600 DconStruct '09 competitors. The winning team at each campus was chosen based on performance in multiple rounds of the competition, which included simulated client interactions and presentations.

"In this edition of DconStruct, students worked on a simulated revenue enhancement case for the print media industry. India's print media industry has faced significant top-line pressure over the past couple of years due to a decline in advertising spend," said Govind Balan, a Principal at Diamond. "We were very pleased with both the overall interest in the competition and the quality of insights and recommendations made by the students."

Participating teams were comprised of three or four members. In the first round, teams had to respond to a Request for Proposal (RFP) issued by the "client," enacted by Diamond. At each business school, four teams were selected for the final round. These shortlisted teams then had the opportunity to interact with senior client management through teleconference, gather necessary information and finally, present their recommendations to senior client executives via video conference.

Swati Aggarwal, a finalist from IIM Bangalore, said, "Right from the initial understanding of the problem, to creating the proposal and working on final deliverable, everything was so organized and intense that it felt as if we were working on a live consulting assignment."

Chandrima Das, a finalist from IIM Calcutta, added, "The event was refreshingly different from most case contests. It was certainly a fun learning experience!"

Diamond also conducted a workshop on resume and cover letter writing and case interviews for consulting aspirants at all the three campuses.
