Pullman - Central Park Hotel Ensures Superior Energy Efficiency and Guest Comfort

Gurgaon, Haryana, India, Monday, March 09, 2009 -- (Business Wire India) -- One of the most sought after developers, Central Park is becoming a name to contend with in the hospitality sector by deploying energy efficient solutions.

For its first hotel, Central Park has partnered with the Pullman brand from Accor, a European hospitality leader that operates a total of 4000 hotels worldwide. In hotels, owing to their 24x7 operations, the amount of electricity used for running air conditioning systems constitutes approximately 30% of total operation costs of the hotel, according to a recent article from Alliance to Save Energy.

Working with Trane, a leading global supplier for heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems and services, Pullman- Central Park Hotel, has taken an integrated approach to its operations and building systems to meet its goals of guest comfort and energy efficiency.

The entire hotel building will be cooled by three water cooled chillers of 400 tons each and 356 Fan Coil Units ensuring accurate temperature control to achieve desired room temperature and humidity levels. Other advantages include low noise and high efficiency.

"It is critical for us to provide our guests with the most comfortable and leisurely environment while being conscious of our environment," said Mr. Arvind Dang, Vice-President (Commercial), Central Park.

The demand for hotels is increasing in India despite the global economic downturn with the need for 150,000 new rooms in the country.

"By focusing on implementing energy efficiency measures through the right selection of HVAC systems and services, hotels can receive the advantages of enhanced guest comfort, reduced energy and operational costs and demonstrate a commitment to climate stewardship."

Trane has been providing HVAC systems, services and solutions to customers in India since 1993. Their systems can be found in leading luxury hotel chains, commercial buildings, malls, and pharmaceutical companies. Trane's approach is to look at building systems as a long-term asset, ensuring that they are energy efficient, meet customer needs and deliver an attractive return on investment.
