Global Standard for Programme Management Comes to India
Indian Organizations, after having adopted Global Frameworks for Project Management, now move to Programme Management

New Delhi, Delhi, India, Thursday, December 10, 2009 -- (Business Wire India) -- The leading standard for Programme Management from the UK, Managing Successful Programmes (MSPTM), was recently launched in India. QAI Global Institute, (www.qaiglobalinstitute.com), the training and development division of the global consulting and workforce development firm QAI, became the leading organization in India to offer the certification program. This certification now provides an avenue for organizations/individuals to move from Project Management to Programme Management.

Managing Successful Programmes (MSPTM) represents proven programme management good practice in the successful delivery of transformational change through the application of programme management. Managing Successful Programmes is widely adopted in the public and private sectors, and developed by a consortium of over 100 organisations including from within services industries. APMG-UK, on behalf of the Office of Government Commerce (OGC) of UK, is the official MSPTM Certification Body.

Project management is the act of creating plans and managing resources in order to accomplish a project. A project is a scheduled undertaking for the purpose of creating a product or service. Programme management, on the other hand, is the act of creating and managing multiple projects, most of the projects are usually related to one another.

Today's organisations exist in a climate of constant and increasing change. Organisations that have learned how to transform themselves through effective leadership and strategic control are more likely to survive and prosper. Programme management is increasingly being recognised as key to enabling organisations to manage that transformation. And MSPTM is the default standard for Programme Management.

Commenting on the launch, S.Ramani, Practice Head for Program Management at QAI, commented, "Managing Successful Programmes is definitive guidance in managing inter-related projects as a co-ordinated programme of business change in order to manage risks and benefits more effectively. We are very happy to have successfully launched the first programme in India and are sure that it will continue to be very well received."
