Tyre major Ceat Limited celebrated the success and glory of Indian domestic cricket with 'CEAT Cricket Rating (CCR) Domestic awards 2009' on January 27th, 2009 at a glittering ceremony here today. CEAT honored the cricketing talent of the future.

This year the event also saw former cricketers B S Chandrashkhar, Nari Contractor, Chetan Chauhan and Nikhil Chopra who were stalwarts of the yesteryears debate on - "On current form is India the next numero uno test cricket team in the world."

CEAT Cricket Rating (CCR) is the first cricket rating to officially recognize and reward domestic and international cricketers for their performances in the national and international cricketing arena. CEAT Domestic Cricket Ratings evaluates performances of the cricketers in the Elite Group of the Ranji Trophy comprising the top fifteen teams in India The awards honor the best of the Indian cricketers based on their performances in domestic cricket as rated by the CEAT Cricket ratings (CCR) for the year 2008 - 2009.

The event saw Mumbai's Wasim Jaffer win the award of CEAT India Cricketer of the year 2008-2009 - a cash prize of Rs 2 Lakh, Saurashtra's Cheteshwar Pujara was the winner of the CEAT India Batsman of the year 2008-09 and Dhawal Kulkarni of Mumbai was awarded with the CEAT India Bowler of the year 2008-09 award, Both these awards carry a cash prize of Rupees 1 lakh.

It was also a day to honour the stalwarts of the yesteryears who have carved a name for themselves as legends of Indian Cricket. Cricketing legend Late Ashok Mankad of Mumbai was posthumously honored with the Ceat India Lifetime Achievement award.

The CEAT Under-19 ratings, another endeavour to recognize the upcoming cricketing talents of the country, have helped identify potential talent. This rating was introduced with a vision to catch and promote young talent, from across the country, including the talent from small towns and rural India. This year the award was bagged by young Saurav Netravalkar of Mumbai who walked away with a cash prize of Rupees 1 Lakh.

Wasim Jaffer (Mumbai), A Mukund (Tamil Ndu), Ajinkya Rahane (Mumbai), Cheteshwar Pujara (Saurashtra), B Thaker (Gujarat), Ravindra Jadeja (Saurashtra), Parthiv Patel (wk) (Gujarat), M Parmar (Gujarat), S Joshi (Karnataka), S Fallah (Baroda) and D Kulkarni (Mumbai) are the members of this year's, CEAT India XI - Dream Team. This team was selected on the basis of their performances in the year 2008-09. This team has been selected to encourage young talented cricketers from the domestic circuit who have the potential of donning the Indian colors.
