Singapore, Monday, August 17, 2009 -- (Business Wire India) -- -- Enables Global Carrier community access to Bharti Airtel's services to and from any part of the globe

Bharti Airtel, Asia's leading integrated telecom services provider today unveiled its Global Wholesale Service Portfolio with a network that will reach 50 countries across the continents of Europe, North America, Africa, Asia and Australia. Bhart Airtel's portfolio will enable the global carrier community access to Bharti Airtel's services to and from any part of the globe. This expanded connectivity has come on the back of investments of over USD 500 million made on building cable capacity, network infrastructure and international Points of Presence.

Bharti Airtel's wholesale portfolio will offer MPLS, Ethernet, IP and International Private Leased Circuit (IPLC) services to global carriers through Bharti Airtel's global network with a reach to 50 countries. The portfolio includes solutions for voice and data connectivity, collaboration services, co-location, carrier outsourcing and content distribution through its next-generation high speed submarine network.

The initiative comes on the back of sustained investments in building a diverse and resilient global portfolio through building and ownership of cable capacity and network infrastructure. Airtel's global network consists of SMW4, i2i- which is fully owned, APCN2, c2c, JUCN, TGN, TAT14, Apollo, Hibernia. This has been coupled with investments in new cable systems including AAG, Unity North, EIG, IMEWE, EASSy and a couple more in the fray. This move ensures at least three cables on all major routes thereby providing flexibility and readily available restoration.

The current global network is carefully planned and executed to provide unmatched resilience and service offerings. The network comprises of submarine networks, backhaul networks (which connect between the submarine landing station and the Bharti's local points of presence in that country) and the POPs which are built with the next-generation equipments. These together offer to Bharti Airtel's customers unparalleled service quality and flexibility.
