34 Exhibitors Display Green Technologies and Projects at the Third International Climate Change Exhibition 2010 Organised by TERI


New Delhi, Delhi, India, Thursday, February 04, 2010 -- (Business Wire India) -- With its focus on the challenges, impacts, and existing initiatives for tackling the issues of climate change, The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) organised for the third 'The International Climate Change Exhibition (ICCE) 2010.' Around 61 major companies, International NGOs and government agencies displayed their technologies to showcase their climate change developmental projects to an international market and provide a momentum the solution-finding process.

Held on the sidelines of TERI's annual flagship event the Delhi Sustainable Development Summit (DSDS 2009), the main focus of the ICCE is to offer a platform to show case cutting edge climate change adaptation and mitigation techniques.

Inaugurating the exhibition at The Taj Palace, , Dr. Farooq Abdullah, Minister of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Govt. of India said, "This exhibition organised by TERI is an ideal platform for companies across the globe to showcase their new environment-friendly technologies, products, and services facilitating low carbon growth. With increasing focus on energy-efficient, renewable and low-carbon technologies, such exhibitions are excellent platforms to create awareness among the public on such technologies that can contribute towards effective adaptation in addressing climate-related risks."

Projects and technologies that assist in the collective effort to combat climate change are more relevant now than ever. TERI, through ICCE, wants to create awareness among the general public on ways to mitigate adverse impacts of climate change caused due to anthropogenic activities. The exhibition demonstrates new technologies, products, and services aimed at mitigating greenhouse gas emissions. The exhibition showcases examples of successful transfer of technologies for greenhouse gas reductions and builds capacity and knowledge on climate change among different stakeholders.

34 major companies, International NGOs and government agencies like Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India, Cleantech, Finland, Bureau du Québec, Johnson Controls India Pvt. Ltd., Philips Electronics India Limited, Freeplay Energy India Pvt Ltd, Nokia, ONGC, ACC, and SAP India Pvt. Ltd participated in the exhibition.
