Dr. Shan Nair Recognized for Entrepreneurship by New Delhi-Based Non-Profit

Dr. Shan Nair, co-founder of Nair & Co., a leading global integrated solution provider helping companies expand internationally, has won the Bharat Samman Lifetime Achievement Award for pioneering entrepreneurship and contributions as a nuclear scientist, the company announced on Thursday.
Founded by the Non Resident Indian (NRI) Institute, a global non-profit, the award recognizes the achievements of the Indian Diaspora.
India's deputy foreign minister Shashi Tharoor, and IT advisor to the Indian Prime Minister Sam Pitroda presented the award to Dr. Nair during the two-day NRI Divas held in Indian capital New Delhi recently.

The lifetime achievement award adds to a growing list of accolades for Dr. Nair who received the Gullands Excellence Award and the Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business Award in 2008 and the Bharat Samman Pravasi Award, the Hind Rattan (Jewel of India) Award and the Bharat Shiromani Award in 2009.
The Oxford-educated Dr. Nair began his career as a scientist in the U.K. nuclear industry but retrained as an accountant in the early 1990s. He founded Nair & Co. in 1994 and currently oversees the group's overall development, its policies, strategies and goals.
