Convergys Corporation (NYSE: CVG), a global leader in relationship management, announced today that its employees in Gurgaon, a major suburb of New Delhi, have agreed to sponsor the education of 200 children at the Rahul Multidisciplinary Research Center.
The Rahul Multidisciplinary Research Center is a grass-root, non-profit, non-governmental organization founded by technocrats, academicians, intellectuals, and social workers in 1996. One of its primary aims is to educate the children of the migrant poor. Towards this it has an ongoing program of "Inclusive education of Left - Out Children Living in the Slums of National Capital Territory of Delhi." For this it has a well-rounded curriculum that includes studies in Hindi and English, vocational training, and creative elements. Subsisting only on donations, the Rahul Multidisciplinary Research Center reached out to Convergys for sponsorship for students at its facility in Ghaziabad, an industrial town located near Delhi in Uttar Pradesh.
Convergys employees sponsored children singly or in teams, ensuring that the students, who range in age from 4 to 14, will be able to continue their studies throughout the year.
