Gaadi.com Launches Bikes Section on it's 2nd Anniversary

Gurgaon, Haryana, India, Friday, May 21, 2010 -- (Business Wire India) -- Gaadi.com, India's 2nd largest auto portal, today launched a new bikes section - http://www.gaadi.com/bikes/ - This section gives prospective buyers a one stop solution for researching their new bike purchase. Features include - Bike comparisons, Bike pricing, technical specifications and contact information of bike dealers in your city. User reviews and ratings of bikes are integrated seamlessly across the section and are also used to power the Recommend Me a Bike Section. A comprehensive bike comparison tool has also been created to allow users to compare bikes across multiple parameters.

Vivek Pahwa, CEO & Founder, says "Our internal research identified a gap in the market in terms of research options for prospective bike buyers. While in the last couple of years numerous portals have been launched targeting car buyers the bike buyers segment has been largely ignored. Some excellent communities for bike enthusiasts exist with quality content but nothing tailored to the needs of an average bike buyer. The challenge is to not only have updated high quality content but to also integrate it seamlessly to ease the task of a visitor. Our prior experience in running one of India's largest auto sites gives us a unique insight into customer research behavior and will allow us to replicate our success in growing traffic on the cars section within our bikes section too. "

"We are keen to establish Gaadi.com as the No. 1 bike research site in India within the next six months. A large proportion of India's urban youth and middle class is active online and it is this segment that we are initially targeting. We hope to attract around 5,000 - 10,000 unique visitors a day to our bikes platform. We also hope that as they move up the income ladder they return to Gaadi.com to research their next new/used car purchase."

Umang Kumar, Co-Founder, adds "Once we get to a stage where we influence the purchase decisions of bike buyers we will get bike manufacturers to advertise with us. Online is becoming an increasingly important medium for them especially within the performance/sports bikes segment. Today, research studies point to the increasing penetration of the online medium within the youth, an increasingly important segment for bike manufacturers, leading to increasing online spends."
