Fashion & Design Promotion Council Announces the First Ever India Fashion and Design Week - Spring /Summer 2010
Also Unveils India Design Vision 2015 - Poised to Achieve INR 20 billion worth for Indian Designer Wear by 2015

New Delhi, Delhi, India, Wednesday, July 22, 2009 -- (Business Wire India) -- Fashion & Design Promotion Council (Sponsored by the Ministry of Textiles - Govt. of India), today announced the India Fashion & Design Week - Spring / Summer 2010 - as the unified fashion consortium of the Indian Designer Wear segment. This prestigious event is scheduled from October 23 to October 27, 2009 in New Delhi. In parallel conjunction, FDPC will also put under the spotlight, India Design Vision 2015 - a roadmap to building the 'India Fashion Brand' into a viable component of the premium and luxury market - both in India and abroad. The members of FDPC's governing council aim to make this FDPC's 'manifesto' over the next five years.

INDIA DESIGN VISION 2015

-- EVOLVE - Offer end-to-end process training of fashion and design, both within the fraternity and to the industry beyond - thereby fuelling investment.

-- ENGAGE - Build a marketing and communication program to engage premium and luxury consumers into opting for Indian designer wear.

-- ENCOURAGE - Uncover new talent in the field of fashion and design through sustainable programs that enrich the 'India Fashion Brand' gene pool.

-- ENABLE - Create blueprints for education & training and research & development - covering artistic and commercial aspects of fashion and design.
