Unhealthy Competition between Sursagar Dairy & NDDB for Milk Collection


Anand, Gujarat, India, Thursday, October 15, 2009 -- (Business Wire India) -- Dispute between Surendranagar District Co-operative Milk Producers' Union (DCMPU) Ltd., Sursagar Dairy and National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) is creating a discontent among milk producers of Surendranagar district since last month.

On 9th October'2009, Chairman and Secretary of Village Dairy Co-operative Societies (VDCS) of Surendranagar district has submitted a memorandum to Manager, Sursagar Dairy and District collector and blamed NDDB for providing wrong information and creating the dispute among milk producer members.

Trying to confine the premises of Sursagar Dairy, situated at Wadhwan Road, by NDDB is trying to create rift among dairy sector.

Milk producer members of Surendranagar are in dilema because of the competition for milk procurement between Sursagar Dairy and NDDB. On the other hand Chairman and Secretary of Village Dairy Co-operative Society have blamed NDDB for creating the dispute between milk producer members by providing misleading information.

To counter attack the situation, on 9th October'2009, Chairman and Secretary of Village Dairy Co-operative Societies have decided to submit the memorandum.

As per the memorandum, NDDB 's subsidiary company has initiated the process of appointment of milk collection agent at village level by giving them bribes of higher commission. Apart from this, memorandum also indicates that NDDB created company tried to shatter the VDCS by creating the dispute between the milk producer members. Sursagar Dairy is one of the 13 member unions of Gujarat Co-Operative Milk Marketing Federation Limited.
