Economictimes.com Organizes BPO Industry Awards 2010 in Association with QAI

New Delhi, Delhi, India, Tuesday, November 02, 2010 -- (Business Wire India) -- The winners of the BPO Industry Awards 2010 honoring excellence and contribution in the BPO industry were announced yesterday in a gala award ceremony at The Grand hotel, New Delhi. Fourth in the edition "BPO Industry Awards" this year were powered by economictimes.com in association with QAI (www.qaiglobal.com), the leading consulting and workforce development organization.

The tremendous growth in the Indian BPO industry over the last few years has led to its dominance in offshoring. BPO services exports rose in the last financial year by about 18 per cent, according to Nasscom, a period that also saw the emergence of the domestic BPO. The industry has recovered from one of the worst economic recessions of recent times and has enhanced its efficiency, says a media report.

Presided over by Mr. R. Chandrashekhar, DoT (Department of Telecommunication) Secretary and Telecom Commission Chairman, this year's awards repeated the resounding success of "BPO Industry Awards 2006, 2007 and 2008" with over 250 delegates from eminent organizations across the BPO industry and media publications. This years awards were not only well attended but very well received by the industry like all the earlier editions of the awards.

The awards indentified and rewarded the professionals and organizations for thier suprlative achievements in the field of Business Process Outsourcing. The members of the jury included prominent industry leaders like Mr. Pradeep Gupta, Chairman and MD-Cybermedia, Mr. Raman Roy, Chairman and MD-Quatrro BPO Solutions (p) Ltd., Mr. T.K. Arun, Editor-Delhi, The Economic Times.

Mr. Navyug Mohnot, CEO, QAI said, "Its good to note that the BPO Awards is a now well established institution and we have the fourth edition of the Awards this year. QAI is proud to be a significant part of this initiative to recognize the industry's leaders. We have made some changes in the award categories this year, and the changes reflect some of the emerging trends in the industry. Having been involved in this evaluation process for the past 4 years, we have observed that the participation has become keener, more companies with locations out of India have applied this year, again reflecting the trend in the industry to go global also the applications have become far richer in content. Thus, congratulations to the winners for a keenly fought competition, and for acing it."

The awards were divided into ten categories and generated a lot of interest value within the BPO community. Over 50 nominations across categories were received for the evalution process. This year QAI followed a unique approach by maximizing the use of metrics for evaluation. Every Award category had more than 50% of the evaluation on the basis of metrics. Most Award categories have more than 75% of the evaluation on the basis of metrics, in an attempt to attenuate the risk of a perception bias from the evaluator. This year, emphasis was also put on seeking the voice of customer in at least 2 of the categories, which provided QAI with valuable insights and reaffirmed some of the analysis. Also, considering the fact that the last year had global economic conditions that warranted innovative strategies, due weightage was given to revenue growth as one of the key indicators of success.
