India Semiconductor Association (ISA) and East of England International in Partnership: MoU to Foster Business Alliances in the Semicon Sector between the Two Countries


Bangalore, Karnataka, India, Wednesday, March 04, 2009 -- (Business Wire India) -- The India Semiconductor Association (ISA), the trade body representing the Indian semiconductor driven industry and the East of England International, today entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to identify and foster business alliances in the semiconductor sector two countries.

According to the Mou, in the light of the mutual interest of the two trade bodies to promote and develop the semiconductor industries in their respective countries, ISA and East of England International have agreed to cooperate with each other in select areas which included chip design, embedded software and solar photovoltaics.

The MoU encourages ISA and East of England International to foster business relationships among members companies and to develop a mutually beneficial framework for exchange of industry reports, delegations and business visits.

Speaking at the signing of the MoU, Ms. Poornima Shenoy, President, India Semiconductor Association (ISA) said, "We see a tremendous potential for the growth of semiconductor led businesses in India and the United Kingdom and hope to leverage these prospects in the coming years."

Sir Robin Young, Chairman, East of England International, added, "We already have a strong connection in semiconductors with ARM - an East of England grown company - located in Bangalore. Semiconductor R&D was effectively 'born' at the University of Cambridge with the discovery of the electron in 1897 right through to the development of the world's first single-electron memory device.
