It will be Prof Sudhangsu Sekhar Chakraborty, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, Consulting Engineering Services (India) Private Limited - "CES", who will be speaking on the Industrial Development scenario of West Bengal.

The theme of this international convention is "Creating Global Partnership with West Bengal" to explore the various opportunities of industrial and commercial ventures in potential sectors as well as export potential and opportunities of West Bengal.

This international convention will also provide a platform for felicitating outstanding personalities of West Bengal and confer them with "Glory of Bengal Award" and "life time achievement award" who have contributed in the fields of Art, Culture, Literature, Profession, Business, Charity, Community Welfare, Media & Communication.

Prof Sudhangsu Chakraborty, will be felicitated with the "GLORY OF BENGAL" Award for his outstanding contributions in the field of engineering consultancy services for over half a century, both nationally and internationally. An industry veteran in the true sense of the word, Prof Chakraborty is an eminent thought-leader, and a professional par excellence in the arena of infrastructure development in various sectors, predominantly so in sectors like traffic & transport, roads-highways-bridges-expressways, water resources. He has, to his credit, numerous awards and distinctions internationally. It is a pleasant coincidence that his wife, Dr Chirasree Bishi Chakraborty, too, is being felicitated, at the same podium, with the "Life-time Achievement Award" for her contributions in the fields of literature, art and education, along with other eminent personalities from West Bengal, namely: Shri Chuni Goswamihri Sirshendu Mukhopadhaya, Shri Rudhra Prasad Sengupta, Smt Swatilekha Sengupta, and Smt Sreeradha Bandhopadhaya.

On the occasion, Prof Chakraborty said: Nothing can be ever more satisfying than for me to be receiving this Award especially when it comes from my very own community in Bengal, spread across the world. I feel most humbled indeed, much so to my pride as an Indian. The Convention of this magnitude taking place in this country is a great thing to happen. I feel nostalgic about, in a way, that it was our Company, "CES" that set its professional foot-print in the Sultanate of Oman four decades back, with Muscat to start with and, subsequently, the entire Gulf region including, of course, Qatar. For me, therefore, to receive this glorious Award on this soil is an event that would stay vivid in my mind for the rest of my life."

The event will be attended by delegates comprising people of Bengal origin from mostly all countries of Middle East, Far East, Central Asia, Africa, and some countries of Europe, Australia, USA and Canada along with West Bengal State and Central Ministers, diplomats, business house head, eminent personalities from India will participate.
