JWT India Wins the Only Grand Prix at GOAFEST 2009!


Cavelossim Beach, Goa, India, Saturday, April 04, 2009 -- (Business Wire India) -- Goafest 2009 culminated with the highly anticipated Creative Abby awards wherein JWT India won the Grand Prix for the Teach India campaign in the Best use of Direct category.

Ogilvy & Mather swept the Awards with maximum wins of 50 Creative Abbys consisting of 8 Gold, 17 Silver and 25 Bronze Abbys; while JWT India won 24 Abbys consisting of 1 Grand Prix, 5 Gold, 5 Silver and 13 Bronze. Leo Burnett won 17 Abbys consisting of 1 Gold, 2 Silver and 14 Bronze; while Ideas@work and Mudra won 14 Abbys each, followed by McCann and Publicis with 13 Abbys; Contract with 12 Abbys and Rediffusion Y&R and Creativeland Asia with 10 Abbys each.

The Creative Abby's witnessed 4494 entries from 143 agencies. The awards were judged on 12 categories: Print, Ambient Media, Design, Direct, Film Craft, Film, Integrated, Interactive, Out of Home, Radio Craft, Print Craft and Radio.

In the Film Single category, 6 Silver and 11 Bronze Abbys were awarded this year.

Leo Burnett India, Ogilvy & Mather, and Publicis Communications Pvt.Ltd. were awarded Gold in the Best Use of Print Single category, Abhishek Sawant and Ideas@work won a Gold each in the Print Craft category.

In the Radio Single category, Mudra Group (DDB Mudra) won a Gold Abby for Islamic Research Foundation 'IRF-Bush'.

In the Interactive Digital Advertising: website category, JWT India won a Gold for the Times of India-Run/Ban Jallikatu campaign created to spark a debate whether to run or ban the 350 year old bull-running festival in Tamil Nadu.

Tata Sky-Adultdost.com: India's First Adult Dating website won a Gold Abby for Media2win in the Interactive Digital Advertising: Viral & Email Marketing category.

In the Out of Home: Food & Beverages category, O&M won for the Tourist and Caveman campaign for Sour Marbels while Publicis Communications campaign 'Saving of a Lifetime' for Cupid condoms bagged them a Gold in the OOH: Toiletries, Cosmetics and Healthcare category.

In the Ambient Media category, JWT India won a Gold for the Fresh Flower Bouquet campaign for Spring Blossoms while O&M also bagged a Gold Abby for the 'End Polio Now' campaign.

4 Gold Abby's were awarded in the Design category out of which 2 were awarded to Umbrella Design and one to O&M and Redlion each.
