TÜV SÜD South Asia Appoints Niranjan Nadkarni as Chief Executive Officer


Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, Monday, April 06, 2009 -- (Business Wire India) -- TÜV SÜD South Asia recently announced the appointment of Mr Niranjan Nadkarni to the position of Chief Executive Officer, South Asia, effective 1 April 2009. Mr Nadkarni's main responsibilities include the top and bottom line accountabilities of all business verticals, management of central functions and the business growth of current and new businesses in South Asia.

After more than 8 years of manufacturing industry experience in a multinational organization, Mr Nadkarni joined TÜV SÜD in 1995 as Manager - Management Systems and was later promoted to General Manager in year 2000. He was appointed Vice President of Testing business and member of Board of Management, TÜV SÜD South Asia in 2005. Under his leadership, TÜV SÜD South Asia established four testing laboratories for softlines and three testing laboratories for food while developing strategic business in the industry verticals of softlines, food, product certifications, automotive and IT. He is also the Chairman of the Board of Management of the recently inaugurated TÜV SÜD Bangladesh.

The outgoing CEO for TÜV SÜD South Asia, Mr. Ishan Palit who has been promoted to the post of COO - TÜV SÜD Asia Pacific said: "I am positive that in his new role, Mr. Nadkarni will lead TÜV SÜD South Asia to greater successes and continue to expand the service portfolio to meet changing customer needs and industry trends."

Niranjan Nadkarni holds a Bachelors Degree in Engineering. He completed his Masters in Management Science at Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune, India
