Audi India to pass full four percent excise duty reduction and Cenvat to customers, Customer benefit from 1,21,000 INR (Audi A4) to 2,79,000 INR (Audi A8)

Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, Tuesday, December 16, 2008 -- (Business Wire India) -- Audi, the German luxury car manufacturer, today announced a price reduction of its homologated models available in India following government's announcement of revision of excise duty and central value added tax (Cenvat) by four percent.

The prices will see a reduction of 2,79,000 INR of Audi A8, 1,85,000 INR of Audi Q7, 1,51,000 INR of Audi A6 and INR 1,21,000 of the Audi A4. The new prices (ex-showroom Mumbai) are being in effect from December 12th, 2008.

Commenting on the announcement, Mr. Benoit Tiers, Managing Director Audi India said: "We welcome this decision by the Government of India. Audi believes in providing value to the customers and hence the entire four percent reduction will be passed on to our customers."

The Audi A4 will now be available from 28,54,000 INR onwards, the Audi A6 from 38,18,000 INR onwards, the Audi Q7 from 52,40,000 INR onwards and the Audi A8 from 71,15,000 INR onwards.

The Audi model range in India consisting of the Audi A8, Audi Q7, Audi A6, the new Audi A4, the Audi TT and the recently launched super sports car Audi R8 is available at twelve dealerships across the country: in Ahmedabad, Delhi, Gurgaon, Chandigarh, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Ludhiana, Chennai, Kochi and Kolkata.
