Pioneering Initiative Receives Global Recognition for Innovation in Service

New Delhi, Delhi, India, Monday, December 22, 2008 -- (Business Wire India) -- The Citibank Delhi Metro Credit Card was awarded the prestigious 'OSCARD' award for 2008 at a glittering ceremony in Paris on December 17, 2008.

OSCARD awards, which acknowledge and reward the most innovative card products annually is organised jointly by Publi-News, a Paris based specialist banking publication and Altenor, an international consulting firm specializing in cards strategy. The awards process is extremely stringent with thousands of cards participating each year. The Citibank Delhi Metro Credit Card proposition was considered the best amongst all other nominations received from several other countries and was ranked top in the "Innovation in Service" category.

The Citibank Delhi Metro Credit Card, which was launched in May this year, is India's first '2-in-1' transit credit card, combining the benefits of a Metro Smart Card with the advantages of a Citibank Credit Card.
