Small Steps, Big Difference Trend Micro Supports CRY's SMS Campaign
New Delhi, Delhi, India, Thursday, March 25, 2010 -- (Business Wire India) -- CRY has launched a simple participatory initiative, urging people to take small steps, leading to a big difference. All one has to do is SMS 'CRY' to 58888.
Last Children's Day, CRY had launched a nation-wide campaign on "Equal Education for every child" that was endorsed by 7.7 lakh people from all parts of the country. The charter of demands endorsed seeking 3 key amendments to the 'Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act 2009' was subsequently submitted to The Honorable President, Smt. Pratibha Patil.
The current campaign is being supported by Trend Micro, the global leader in Internet content security. The funds raised from the joint campaign by Trend Micro and CRY will go towards supporting CRY's on-ground work in 6700 villages and slums from all over India.
"While CRY's work restores the right to education for some of the most deprived children, Trend Micro's Internet Safety for Kids & Family initiative offers tips and online tools to keep the parents and their children safe online. Trend Micro helps parents ensure that their kids' Internet experience remains safe & secure," expresses Amit Nath Country Manager, India & SAARC, Trend Micro.
"The kids are spending more time than before surfing the internet and using mobile devices for receiving messages from website and social media like face book, plurk, twitter etc. To keep the kids secure online from threats like personal data stealing & malware attack would be the necessary task for parents, Trend Micro's goal is to provide useful information and free tools to help parents on this." opines Amit Nath Country Manager, India & SAARC, Trend Micro.
Explaining the campaign, Regina Thomas, CRY's Director - South, says "Giving for us is an act of showing solidarity for the spirit of a future where every child in India has every right. So what better way to start than with a micro-contribution."
Trend Micro, which is the leader in secure content and threat management space, was the first company to identify the threats that children face while online. The company has been educating the parents about importance of parental control on the Internet. In fact, Parental Controls are included in Trend Micro Internet Security and Trend Micro Internet Security Pro. The feature is also available in Home Network Defender, which received the Parent Tested Parent Approved (PTPA Media Inc.) Seal-of-Approval.
