Dr. Kurien : A Re-union with GCMMF's Team
Anand, Gujarat, India and Anand, Tuesday, October 12, 2010 -- (Business Wire India) -- GCMMF Ltd. Anand, the cooperative federation that markets Amul and Sagar brands successfully conducted its 28th Hoshin Kanri Meeting on 7-9th Oct. 2010. The pioneer of white revolution and founding chairman of GCMMF Ltd. Dr Verghese Kurien graced the meeting by his presence. He interacted with the participants and appreciated them for their relentless effort in taking GCMMF ahead, which has been constantly working for betterment of milk producers and providing value for money to its consumers. He mentioned that the growth in an organization or economy should always be inclusive, taking care of the under privileged. He also expressed his pleasure over the way India as a country is growing with a humane face.
GCMMF conducts Hoshin Kanri Meeting twice every year as an exercise that involves all its stakeholders to align the individual goals to organisation's goal. Hoshin Kanri is a methodology for strategic direction setting and policy deployment that is unique amongst the Indian companies. Originating in Japan, it is a systems approach to management of change in critical business processes based on Large Scale Interactive Process (LSIP). Meeting is conducted to continuously improve the processes that serve the core objectives of the business.
GCMMF conducted this three daylong meeting, where in-charge Managing Director Sh R S Sodhi set the direction of meeting and then the participants were broken up into max-mix teams to work on the agenda which included a review of the dairy product market scenario, brain storming about key thrust areas, and reviewing goals for the current year. There were more than 150 participants that included division heads, zonal heads, depot in-charges, brand managers, suppliers, advertising agencies and other stakeholders.
Meeting starts with early morning meditation followed by discussion on specified PAL (purpose agenda limit). The meeting was focused on strengthening distribution reach of GCMMF in order to cater to the consumers residing in small towns, semi urban and rural areas. The meeting was also attended by the chairman of GCMMF Ltd, Sh Parthibhai Bhatol who appreciated the efforts of the participants for taking GCMMF growth to 24% in the second quarter with cumulative turnover of Rs 4650 Crore (growth of 17%) till now and motivated them to cross Rs. 10,000 crore turnover in this FY of 2010-11.
