Bangalore, Karnataka, India, Wednesday, January 21, 2009 -- (Business Wire India) -- Akamai Technologies, Inc. the leader in powering rich media, dynamic transactions and enterprise applications online, today announced online traffic statistics associated with live coverage of the Inauguration of Barack Obama as the 44th President of The United States.

As the largest day ever for the delivery of concurrent live streaming over the Akamai EdgePlatform, the Company reported it delivered a peak of over 7 million active simultaneous streams (the majority being live streams) at approximately 10.45 p.m. IST yesterday.
