New Delhi, Delhi, India, Tuesday, March 16, 2010 -- (Business Wire India) -- After months of anticipation, ELECTRONICS NEXT INDIA debut took place in New Delhi in February. Beforehand, many argued that it was a long overdue business platform for the Indian Market as other exhibition organizers had adopted the wait and watch policy with slow down in Global electronics industry.

Most agreed that it comprised all the elements of a progressive trade show environment. The maiden edition of ELECTRONICS NEXT INDIA held in New Delhi from 24-26 February at Pragati Maidan concluded on an environment friendly note. This year's edition of Electronics Next India had an exclusive seminar -Green Electronics, Managing the Environment- focusing on the need for adopting environment friendly manufacturing and supply chain management. Inuagurated by Lt. General AKS Chandele, Director General, Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers, ELECTRONICS NEXT INDIA 2010 had a special emphasis on defence electronics with an aim to increase investment in the home grown defence industry.

Supported by the Electronic Industries Association of India (ELCINA), Indian Printed Circuit Association (IPCA), MAIT, TEMA, CEAMA among others, Electronics Next India 2010 was a holistic event covering the entire gamut of the Electronic Manufacturing Industry in India and catering to all industry verticals like consumer electronics, aerospace, defence electronics etc. The show also witnessed a surge in the number of companies and trade visitors participating owing to the post recession buoyancy in the Indian market.

An exciting mix of Large Global and Indian players showcased their latest product and technology offerings and innovations at the show. The exhibition had which had an exclusive pavilion from Taiwan saw Representative Mr.Wenchyi Ong of the Taipei Economic Cultural Centre visiting the pavilion and interacting with Taiwanese companies. Mr. Ong also discussed new opportunities and other key investment options with Indian companies present at the exhibition. The expo had a significant participation from China, Singapore and Hong Kong along with companies from countries like USA, UK, Japan, Belgium, Israel, Korea and Germany. AmericanTec, INetest, Maxim SMT, Prosem, Essemtec, Bergen System, EMS Technology, Omron, DVS, Sumitron, SLN Technologies, Nmtronics among others were some of the national & international corporations that unveiled their latest in SMT during ELECTRONICS NEXT INDIA. Attracted by the show's commitment to supporting the entire industry, from Components, Design & Development, Embedded and EMS, SMT & Production Assembly, Eco Design and Test & Measurement, many exhibitors sold equipment on stand.

ELECTRONICS NEXT INDIA also featured a conference in association with ELCINA - "Vision for the future - Opportunity for India in Global Electronics Industry". The conference, inaugurated by Shri. R.Chandrashekhar, Secretary, Department of Information Technology, Government of India, saw experts like Mr.Vipin Tyagi, Director, Centre for Development of Telematics, Mr.Vinnie Mehta, Executive Director, Manufacturers Association of Information Technology (MAIT), Col. K.V.Kuber, Sr. Vice President, Religare Aerospace & Defence Advisory Services and Mr.Rohit Pundit, Business Head, L.G. Electronics sharing their perspectives on the future of the Indian EMS industry.
